His attention to detail, commitment to quality tenant experiences, and continued desire to create iconic destinations has helped the Group evolve into one of Australia’s largest family owned property groups.

Jason Makris

Chief Executive Officer

Jason Makris commenced his career in property in 1999 with Jones Lang LaSalle, where he developed a strong understanding of key property investment fundamentals. After four years as a commercial agent, Jason recognised an opportunity in the hospitality industry and spent the next decade as a food and beverage retailer, owner and operator, founding multiple successful businesses.

In 2012, Jason joined Makris Group as Asset Manager and established the Group's Queensland operations. He was instrumental in the formation and implementation of the Group's lifestyle destination precinct strategy, which led to the successful acquisition of Marina Mirage and Oracle Boulevard on the Gold Coast. In 2018, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, expanding his responsibilities across the Group's national asset and development portfolio.

Jason has grown through the Group's ranks, gaining extensive experience across all facets of the business. Appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2022, he now leads the strategic direction, development and long-term growth of the Group's national portfolio. Under his leadership, Makris Group is delivering the transformational $500 million redevelopment of Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast, while overseeing the continued evolution of Oracle Boulevard in Broadbeach and the Group's broader portfolio across Adelaide and Melbourne through innovative placemaking, destination-led strategies and community-focused initiatives that create distinctive experiences, strengthen asset performance and deliver long-term value.

With more than 25 years' experience spanning property, hospitality and development, Jason remains focused on creating distinctive destinations and experiences that deliver lasting value for customers, communities and stakeholders.

General Manager

As General Manager, Natalie brings more than 15 years of international property experience and plays a pivotal role in driving the continued growth, transformation and long-term success of the Makris Group. With deep expertise spanning asset management, property development and auditing, she is passionate about creating exceptional community-focused precincts, aspirational destinations and lifestyle experiences that deliver lasting value for customers, communities and stakeholders.

Natalie has successfully co-led the launch of Marina Mirage, securing landmark hotel agreements with Marriott Luxury Collection and advancing the sale of premium residences and retail tenancies as part of the destination's transformational redevelopment. She is also instrumental in driving strategic change across the Group's broader portfolio, helping future-proof the business through innovative placemaking, asset repositioning and destination-led strategies across the Gold Coast, Adelaide and Melbourne.

She began her career at KPMG and has since worked across three countries in senior roles with Knight Frank and Savills, gaining extensive experience across retail, commercial and residential property portfolios. Prior to joining Makris Group, she held a number of senior leadership positions, building a reputation for strategic insight, operational excellence and delivering complex property outcomes.

Natalie's authentic, hands-on leadership style and collaborative approach have been central to advancing the Group's long-term vision. She continues to play a key role in shaping the future of the portfolio, creating best-in-class community assets and distinctive destinations designed to inspire a new generation of customers, residents and visitors.

Chief Financial Officer

Chris is an accomplished finance executive and Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years of experience spanning audit, construction, property and corporate finance. As Chief Financial Officer, he plays a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and long-term growth of the Makris Group, providing the commercial insight, financial discipline and strategic leadership that underpin the Group's continued success.

Chris began his career with KPMG South Africa in its statutory audit division, where he completed his training contract, qualified as a Chartered Accountant and progressed to Audit Manager. Following six years at KPMG, he transitioned into industry, joining a leading construction group where he quickly advanced through the business to become Head of Finance, overseeing financial operations, reporting and strategic planning.

Since joining Makris Group in 2018, Chris has been instrumental in supporting the growth and evolution of the Group's national portfolio. Working closely with leading financiers, banking partners and key investment stakeholders, he has played a pivotal role in securing funding, managing capital structures and supporting major acquisitions, developments and investment decisions across the portfolio.

With deep expertise in financial strategy, forecasting, cash flow management, feasibility modelling and investment analysis, Chris provides the financial framework that supports the Group's development pipeline and long-term vision. Alex Jeffries is a qualified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience across accounting, development and commercial finance. Since joining Makris Group as Group Financial Accountant in 2022, she has played an important role in supporting the Group's financial reporting, planning and investment activities.

Alex began her career with KPMG, where she developed a strong foundation in accounting, audit and business advisory services before transitioning into the development sector in 2015. Her experience spans a range of management and development organisations across Victoria and Queensland, including roles with Winslow Constructors and AVID Property Group, providing her with valuable expertise across complex portfolios and large-scale development projects.

Working closely with Chief Financial Officer Chris Philippou, Alex supports the Group's reporting, forecasting, cash flow management and investment analysis. David Aitken is an accomplished Development Management Consultant with more than 30 years of experience delivering residential, commercial, mixed-use, retail and luxury development projects across Australia and the United States.

Working alongside Makris Group since 2014, David has played a key role in the planning, delivery and evolution of some of the Group's most significant development projects. His expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility and design management through procurement, approvals and construction delivery, to project completion and asset handover.

Over the course of his career, David has successfully managed and overseen projects valued in excess of $1 billion, including landmark developments such as The Oracle Broadbeach and numerous luxury beachfront residential projects throughout Southeast Queensland. His extensive experience in complex, large-scale developments has earned him a reputation for delivering high-quality outcomes while effectively managing project risk, stakeholder relationships and commercial performance.

David's professional background includes senior project management roles with leading development and property organisations across the Gold Coast, Sydney and Los Angeles. His international experience brings a valuable perspective to development strategy, project delivery and the creation of high-performing assets that deliver long-term value.

Holding a Bachelor of Business (Business Management), an Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management), and an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Architectural Technology), David is also a licensed QBCC Open Builder and Project Management Services Licence holder.

Chelsea Steber joined Makris Group as Asset Manager in 2025, bringing more than 20 years of experience across property management, asset management and strategic marketing within mixed-use property portfolios.

Chelsea's longstanding relationship with the Group began in 2017 when she was appointed to the JLL Property and Asset Management team responsible for managing its Queensland assets. Her strong commercial acumen, leadership capabilities and deep understanding of the portfolio saw her progress to the role of Portfolio Centre Manager for Queensland, where she successfully led the team for four years.

As Asset Manager, Chelsea plays a key role in driving the performance, evolution and long-term success of the Group's assets across Queensland, South Australia and Victoria. Working closely with the leadership team, tenants and industry partners, she helps deliver asset strategies focused on operational excellence, customer experience, tenant engagement and sustainable growth.

Her expertise spans all facets of property and asset management, including retail leasing, facilities management, stakeholder engagement, compliance and asset optimisation. Leasing Manager

Rochelle has been an integral member of the Makris Group team since 2016, bringing extensive experience in property administration, leasing coordination and stakeholder management. In her role, Rochelle works closely with leasing agents, tenants and legal representatives to coordinate leasing documentation and ensure the efficient execution of lease transactions across the portfolio. She also provides executive support to the Group's Chief Executive Officer, contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the business.

Prior to joining Makris Group, Rochelle spent more than a decade working in property administration with Knight Frank and CBRE, building a strong foundation in commercial property operations and client service. She also holds a Real Estate Salesperson Registration Certificate, further strengthening her industry knowledge and expertise.

Patricia is an experienced procurement and property administration professional who has been a valued member of the Makris Group team since 2018. Patricia began her career in credit control and accounts receivable roles with leading retailers in New Zealand and Australia before joining the South Australian Education Department as a School Services Officer. She later transitioned into the Procurement and Property team at ECH – Independent Aged Care, where she further developed her expertise in procurement, administration and stakeholder coordination. In 2017, she relocated to the Gold Coast and subsequently joined Makris Group. Patricia is also a qualified Justice of the Peace.
